Regulatory Inspections: AIFA (Italy)

The Agenzia Italiana del Farmaco (AIFA) is the national public body responsible for regulating medicines for human use in Italy. AIFA oversees the entire life cycle of medicines to ensure their effectiveness, safety, appropriateness, and accessibility across the country. It operates under the direction of the Ministry of Health and the supervision of both the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, collaborating closely with regional authorities, the Italian National Institute of Health, scientific research institutes, patient associations, and the pharmaceutical industry.
