Terpenes

Terpenes are a broad class of naturally occurring organic compounds built primarily from isoprene (C₅H₈) units. They are widely found in plants and are major components of essential oils, resins, and natural fragrances. In a pharmaceutical/API context, terpenes and terpene-derived compounds may be used as active pharmaceutical ingredients, intermediates, or starting materials because of their diverse biological activities.
