The company specialized in the manufacturing of generic and non-branded pharmaceutical products, with a particular focus in its later years on women’s healthcare through its subsidiary, Ther-Rx Corporation. They manufactured products across research, development, and commercial operations, and at their peak employed several hundred people across research, manufacturing, marketing, and sales facilities. In 2008, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) shut down the company after it was convicted of felony charges related to the manufacturing and distribution of adulterated and unapproved drugs.
