The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) is South Korea’s central regulatory authority responsible for ensuring the safety and effectiveness of foods, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and cosmetics. Formerly known as the Korea Food & Drug Administration (KFDA), the MFDS was elevated to ministry status in 2013 and plays a pivotal role in public health protection and industry regulation.
